Last time, we talked about how every moment is a moment of creation. This is happening right before your eyes although you are mostly not aware of it.
We also talked about the scientifically proven fact that thoughts affect the kinds of proteins your DNA makes.
And in turn, the quality of these proteins affect everything from your health to your mood. By extension, they ultimately determine your actions, your relationships and your quality of life. Even your very identity is a result of habitual thinking.
No big deal, right?
Of course the quality of your life (QOL) is a big deal. And since you now know the chain of events that determine QOL, you can start thinking about how you can take advantage of this knowledge!
But thinking is tricky. 95% of what you think is on auto pilot. In other words, most thoughts you have are ones you’ve thought before. And because what you think always affects your health, your mood, and your life, they have led you to where you are now.
So… to make the changes you want in any area of your life, you have to make changes in your thoughts. And to do that, you have to become aware of them. You have to, in essence, become the fish being aware of water.
At first, this will be difficult. You will forget to monitor your thoughts through the day. But occasionally, you will notice these habitual thoughts.
These moments are golden! You will want to notice the emotions associated with the thoughts. Are they happy, expansive emotions? Or are they stressful, contracting emotions.
The ones that you want to change are the ones that drop you into a stressful state. These are the ones that are dragging you down. They are holding you back. And unless you change them, they will insure that you will continue to create the same life in the future that you’ve had in the past.
As you become more aware of these limiting thoughts, you will find them popping up more frequently than you imagined. Each time you catch one, you need to change it to something that is consistent with the life you want to create.
