Omega-3 Fatty Acids Improve Aging
Fish oils are good for you.
You probably already know that, but now there is more evidence about why.
Research at Ohio State University found that omega-3 fatty acids fight aging. They do it by preserving telomere length.
If you haven’t heard about telomeres, they are an important marker of aging. They are part of your DNA. Over time they get shorter. The shorter they are, the closer someone is to dying. Yes, they are that important.
The fact that the omega-3 in fish oil can protect them is a big deal.

‘Biofarms’ to Integrate Vaccines, Pharmaceuticals into GMO ‘Biopharmaceutical’ Crops
GMOs are in the news lately. This is especially true because of the Tuesday vote in California to mandate labeling.
As you know, I favor the right to know what you are eating. But food isn’t the only place GMOs are present.
For example, plants are now being altered to make vaccines and drugs. In other words, normal, everyday foods are being altered to include the ability to deliver medication.
What could go wrong with that idea?
I’m thinking, quite a lot. The possibility of these foods contaminating other crops is very real. And the possibility of you taking unwanted drugs because they aren’t labeled as such is also real.

One in 10 teenagers now suffers from liver disease due to toxic food supply
Wonder why your teenage child or grandchild isn’t thriving like you expect?
On reason may have to do with the food they eat. Emory University found that non-alcoholic fatty liver disease has tripled in this age range over a 10 year period.
That increase means this problem is increasing faster than teen obesity.
Why is this happening? What foods are contributing?
One part of this is the increase in high fructose corn syrup. HFCS is 100% processed in the liver. And it causes 3 times the fat storage as glucose.
That means the sodas and other sweets that are teen favorites are at least a part of why this problem is getting worse.

What to Do When You Are a CPR Bystander
CPR is such a useful skill. It saves lives.
And recently the process has been made much simpler. No more mouth to mouth breathing. Just a set rhythm of chest compressions.
That means more people will feel comfortable helping when needed.
But only one person at a time can give CPR. What if you are a bystander in such a case?
It turns out that you can help… a lot. If two or even three people are there, the odds of survival go up.
Why? Because the second or third person can handle things that the person doing CPR can’t. These include calling 911, getting other help, helping move the person to a better location, etc.

Top 10 Brain Food That Will Boost Your Intelligence
You’ve heard that some foods help your brain. For example, fish is commonly thought of as “brain food.”
But fish (especially oily fish) isn’t the only food to give your brain a boost. There are many others.
Recently I found a good list of these. It includes 10 foods that are helpful for increasing brain power.
I don’t recommend you just look at the list and run out to eat these in unlimited quantities. Especially some of them, like hot chili peppers, can easily be overdone.
But if you make a point of adding more of some of these to your diet, your brain will thank you.
