New Review Summarizes Benefits Of Coq10 Supplementation

CoQ10 is crucial for energy.

And it is especially crucial for anyone taking statins. Statins lower CoQ10 levels in the body.

This article is a nice summary of the benefits of taking supplements to increase CoQ10 levels. Here’s the quick low-down:

  • It is a potent anti-oxidant.
  • It helps cells create energy.
  • It supports healthy cell function.
  • It is safe, even at very high levels.
  • It is very hard to get in a normal diet.

One other point is that bioavailability is crucial. The best form for this is called ubiquinol. The more commonly found version is called ubiquinone.

One of my favorite sources for ubiquinol is Pure Encapsulations. The link is here. Note that there are three potencies of this on the page. Because this form is absorbed eight times better than the more common one, I recommend the 50 mg dose. That is the equivalent of 400 mg of the other.

Your emotions affect your health.

That’s why it is so important to find ways to be happy. Equally important is reducing those things that take happiness away. That’s what this article addresses.

This is a really good list. Some of these will just be reminders for you. But there may be some that give you some additional insight.

Here’s the short list:

  1. Focusing on everyone’s story except your own.
  2. Waiting for the perfect moment.
  3. Working for nothing more than a paycheck.
  4. Harboring feelings of hate.
  5. Holding tight to worries and fears.
  6. Dwelling on difficulties.
  7. Constantly seeking fleeting contentment.
  8. Trying to make a big difference all at once.
  9. Holding on to someone who hurts you.
  10. Over-amplifying the importance of physical attractiveness.

Each of these has a paragraph or two to elaborate. And many of them have additional references.

I found it to be a very worthwhile piece. You can find it here.

85 Percent of Major Brands of Chewing Gum Still Contain Aspartame and Sucralose

Do you chew gum? If so, please pay attention to this information.

The issue is artificial sweeteners. The vast majority of commonly available brands have either Aspartame or Sucralose in them.

Why is this a problem? The answer is two-fold.

First, Aspartame breaks down into methanol and formaldehyde at body temperature. Both of these are very toxic. And these are both absorbed easily by the body.

Second, Sucralose creates enlarged livers in test animals. It is also toxic to the brain and nervous system. On top of that, it is not directly eliminated from the body. Long term exposure has the chance of causing cancer, birth defects and immune destruction.

This is a very long, but interesting article. It gives all of the reasons these two sweeteners are bad news. And it also has a list of the companies using them in chewing gum.

Waking Times has the story. You can see it here.

New Grapefruit Alert

If you take prescription drugs, grapefruit can be dangerous.

This list of drugs that have bad interactions with this citrus fruit gets longer each day. And because it contains something that keeps drugs from breaking down, it can be serious. In essence, it makes the drugs much more potent. That can lead to overdose symptoms.

This article highlights a couple of new drugs with this problem. One is for deep vein thrombosis. The other is for overactive bladder.

But of course the list is much longer. There is a link in the article to This link takes you to the page with a list of almost 60 drugs that interact with grapefruit.
