Natural Blood Pressure Control

High blood pressure kills.

And if you have high blood pressure, you are likely on some form of medication. Or at least your doctor wants you to be.

One good way to manage high blood pressure is by increasing nitric oxide (NO). It helps arteries relax. That, in turn, increases blood flow and lowers blood pressure.

You can increase NO with food. Dark green leafy vegetables are one source of the raw materials necessary. Also L-arginine containing foods.

Now, in a surprising new study from Britain, researchers have found a completely natural way to increase NO. And it costs nothing.

The secret? Sunshine.

Research showed that sunshine induced nitric oxide release in the skin. At the same time, it modestly lowered blood pressure.

Naked Juice Exposed

You’ve probably seen the brand of juice called “Naked Juice” in the store. They sell it on the basis of it being “all natural.”

But apparently that isn’t true. It turns out that the ingredients include GMO foods and synthetic ingredients. Not exactly natural.

The company just settled a $9 million class action lawsuit about this claim. They also have to remove the words all natural from their labels.

This is just another reminder about packaged foods. It is very easy to be misled by labels. And if you aren’t a chemist, you might not know the problems with innocent sounding ingredients. Buyer beware.

Potent Anti-Aging Antioxidant Nutrient Found

Feeling tired? It is a common complaint these days.

But there is a nutrient that can help. It can triple or even quadruple your energy in just a few days.

It is called PQQ. It acts by increasing mitochondria in cells. Mitochondria are the powerhouses of cellular energy.

If that were all it does, it would be worthwhile. But it is also a potent antioxidant. That’s a lot of good from one nutrient.

Unfortunately, most companies sell a small dose of 5 mg. It is relatively expensive, so they try to save money. But you need at least 10 mg for the full effect.

Also, if you want to try it yourself, I recommend combining it with highly absorbable CoQ10. The best product I’ve found with this combo is here.

Change Your Brain, Change the World

Big ideas will build a better brain.

Therapist Mark Robert Waldman knows something about this. Several years ago he gave a talk at TEDx in Conejo Valley, California.

This isn’t an article, it is a 20-minute video. I recommend watching it.

However if you don’t have time for it, here is a quick summary:

  • What you think changes your brain physically.

  • If you focus on bigger ideas, you get a bigger change.

  • If these ideas are positive and meaningful to you (God, peace, light), you will build a better brain. And your stress will go down.

  • If your big ideas create worry and fear, you will reduce your brain’s capability.

  • In as little as 20 seconds the big thoughts you have will change your brain. If you spend as little as 1 minute every hour focusing on a positive big idea, you will build your brain in positive ways.

Natural Spice Beats Ibuprofen for Knee Pain

Knee pain is a very common problem.

If you have it, you likely take some form of pain reliever. One of the most common is ibuprofen.

You probably already know that ibuprofen is hard on your body. But when you are in pain, what other choice do you have?

A multi-center trial looked at the effect of turmeric on knee pain. They found that it was slightly more effective than ibuprofen. And if you are a long-time Balance Point reader, you know that turmeric has many other positive benefits. You can read about it there in this article.
