What’s In Your Factory Raised Chicken?
New regulations are in place about factory raised chicken.
Why is this important? It’s simple. The new regulations reduce the number of USDA inspectors. At the same time they replace them with employees of the companies being inspected. Almost literally like the fox guarding the hen house.
And finally, they are doubling the speed of “kill lines”. That’s where the birds are killed and inspected. So inspections will have to happen twice as fast.
To make up for this, they are allowing birds to be doused in chlorine and antimicrobial chemicals. Yum! What exactly is the RDA of these chemicals? Oh, yeah… none. In fact they are both very toxic when eaten.
So what could go wrong with this plan? I think you already can see it.

Debunking Cholesterol Myths
Cholesterol doesn’t cause heart disease.
I can almost hear some of you saying, “No way!”
But it’s true. And this is only one of the many myths surrounding cholesterol. There are three others mentioned in this well-written article.
Here is the quick summary:
Myth #1: High HDL causes hard arteries and heart disease.
Myth #2: There is such a thing as “good” and “bad” cholesterol.
Myth #3: Saturated fat and cholesterol rich foods are bad and raise your “bad” cholesterol.
Myth #4: Statins are safe.
The article elaborates on each of these myths in detail. It also gives you a great summary of how important cholesterol is for your health and well being. You’ll find it all here.
This Blood Test Predicts Death, When Other Tests Look “Great”
There is a blood test that can predict heart problems. And you probably have never heard of it.
It’s called “brain natriuretic peptide” (BNP).
BNP is a stronger biomarker than C-reactive protein (CRP) for heart disease. And probably you have never had this done. Even people who’ve had heart attacks don’t get this test often.
On top of that, even a “normal” range reading can be misleading. If you are in the top 1/4 of normal, your risk of early death might be up to 10 times higher.
But even if you haven’t had the test, you can reduce your chances of BNP being high. Simply take enough natural gamma tocopherol. That is a form of vitamin E. Be sure to take a supplement that has all 8 forms of vitamin E.

Splenda (Sucralose) Promotes Diabetes
If you’ve been using sucralose to sweeten things, this will be bad news.
It turns out Splenda promotes diabetes. So much for “sugar free.” So much for safety.
Will you hear about this in the mainstream press? Probably not. Even the American Diabetes Association doesn’t acknowledge it. Of course one of their biggest contributors is McNeil Nutritionals who make Splenda. Yep, no conflict of interest there.
And this fake sugar also has many other health problems associated with it. It’s just not a good idea to ingest it.

The Misdiagnosis Epidemic: How to Answer the Doctor’s Questions
Diagnosing health problems is complicated.
That’s not news. But what it means may be more important than you think.
The issue is that doctors have a lot of information to sort through. And if it is a life-and-death situation – like in an ER – they need to come up with a plan of attack quickly.
But in doing so, it is possible they might miss something. This happens all the time.
And if you also consider that the average patient gets interrupted 20 seconds into describing their symptoms, you can see how this happens. Some studies even show docs coming up with a diagnosis in the first 12 seconds. Forget about your medical history or crucial details about your symptoms.
So how do you deal with this? It is especially crucial in an emergency situation.
The key is how you talk to your doctor. This article gives you some great pointers on how to do that well. You can about it here.
All the best to you for your health and happiness,
